In addition, this statement will explain the ways you can let us know if you prefer that your information not be shared.

    • Creating on-line content relevant to the customer and their needs.
    • Alerting the customer to special offers, updated information and other new services from BWT.
    • Summarizing statistical data for agreed upon business purposes.
  4. 4. Cookies

Cookies may be used on some of BWT's Websites. A cookie is generated by a software application on a site's server that enables it to track your navigation of our site through a small text file on your hard drive. The purpose of the cookie is to help us analyze web traffic or let us know when you visit a particular site. By gathering and remembering information about your preferences, we can tailor the operation of the site to your likes and dislikes. Overall, cookies help us give you a better site to use, by letting us monitor what is working and what is not.

Accepting a cookie will not allow BWT to retrieve any other information on your computer, pass on a computer virus, or capture personal information about you. If you are concerned about cookies, most browsers recognize that a cookie has been offered and will permit you to opt out of receiving it.

  5. 5. Children

BWT understands the importance of protecting children's privacy, especially in an online environment. BWT adheres to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, which applies in the United States. Consequently, we do not knowingly collect, maintain or use information from our Websites about children under the age of 13. If we discover personal information from a child through our Websites, we will eliminate that data.

  6. 6. Disclosure of Information

While BWT will employ commercially appropriate procedures to help ensure that your information is only used for authorized purposes as described above, BWT cannot make any guarantees with respect to the actions or policies of such third parties. BWT will not sell or share personally identifiable information about its customers with any third party unless one of the following applies:

    • We have the authority of the customer to share the information.
    • We have a need to share the information with our affiliates and in order to provide a customer with a specific product or service. These include companies that assist us in providing services to our customers; supply us with information for identifying or evaluating prospective customers; or are given the opportunity to send mailings to approved BWT customer lists. Unless the customer is otherwise notified and provides consent, the affiliate does not have the right to use the information beyond what is required to provide the product or service.
    • We are required by law to disclose the information.
    • A specific product or service provided by BWT may require disclosure of PII to an unaffiliated third party that is our business partner and who has a need to know the information to provide products or services in the course of our business partnership. Business partners are asked to verify that they follow similar or equivalent privacy practices in the protection of PII in their possession.
  7. 7. Links to Third Party Websites

Links to third party Websites from BWT's Website are provided solely as a convenience to you. If you use those links, you leave the BWT Website. BWT has not reviewed all of the third party Websites and does not control and is not responsible for any of these Websites, their content or privacy policy. We encourage visitors to review each Website's privacy policy before disclosing any PII.
